Push
Before Chris Evans strapped on the stars and grade insignia , he appeared in a passel of other films where his acting talent was not amply utilized . We ’re not just talking about those terribleFantastic Fourmovies , either . There are plenty of movies that Evans starred in that citizenry have probably entirely leave about .
Though he might be one of the biggest star in the world now , there was a time when Chris Evans was relegated to the most simplistic part useable , credibly due to his charm and good looks . However , now that he has proven his chops in the MCU ( and some ambitious point performances ) , Evans can have his pick of dandy theatrical role . Still , he had to start somewhere , and these are ten roles Chris Evans play that everyone forgets .
Mr. Freezy (The Iceman)
The Iceman , free-base on the true offence book by Anthony Bruno , tells the veridical - life history of Richard Kuklinski ( played in the moving picture by Michael Shannon ) , who was one of the most ill-famed serial grampus in American History . Kuklinski claimed to have remove hundreds of hoi polloi over his life sentence and often act upon as a contract killer for the Mafia .
In the picture show , Chris Evans has a pocket-sized part as Robert " Mr. Freezy " Pronge , another killer that the existent Kuklinski bonk and learned from . Mr. Freezy ( who make the byname because he force back an ice emollient truck ) teach Kuklinski about freezing soundbox and how to use cyanide to take out his various targets , before becoming one of Kuklinski ’s targets himself .
Colin Shea (What’s Your Number?)
What ’s Your Number?stars Anna Faris as a fair sex who wants to settle down and get married after realise that the turn of man she has slumber with is far too high . Yeah , this is a pretty regressive film , and it was hated by critic . It does , however , feature Chris Evans as a magic musician , so that ’s not too bad , correct ?
Evans is not bad in the part , per se , but the movie itself is so bad that it sort of taints every well thing in it . He and Faris have full comedic chemistry , and they work well as an on - silver screen pair , but finally , this is one use that Evans is credibly glad everyone forgot about .
Jensen (The Losers)
AfterFantastic Four , one could take for granted that Chris Evans would require to direct clear of any other comic book roles . As we all know now , that was not the vitrine , but before he appeared inScott Pilgrim vs , The World , Snowpiercer , and , of course , Captain America : The First Avenger , Evans lease on the role of Jensen inThe Losers .
Though the film itself is largely forgettable , it does feature a great shape which also include next MCU alums Zoe Saldana and Idris Elba . Evans ’s role as Jensen find out him playing not the heftiness , but rather the brains of the operation . He even gets one of the just scenes , when ( with the supporter of the squad ’s sniper ) he appear to take out security guard with finger shooter .
Nick Gant (Push)
Chris Evans distinctly had a thing for act guys with superpowers . Just two years before he would don the stars and stripes for Marvel , Evans appeared in the filmPush , where he played Nick Gant , a guy with the power of telekinesis who bands togehter with other superpowered people to take on a dim government agency .
That voice … a little minute conversant , right ? Change just a few of the elements in that patch description and you ’d have , basically , the X - Men . There ’s no dubiousness that screenwriter David Bourla was inspired by that comic ledger series , but mostly the film just falls plane . It does , however , also feature another MCU star : Djimon Hounsou , who played Korath the Pursuer inGuardians of the Galaxyand most recently inCaptain Marvel .
Detective Paul Diskant (Street Kings)
While this finicky film does n’t star any of Chris Evans ’s MCU friends , it is direct by David Ayer , who helmedSuicide Squadfor Warner Bros. In this action picture show about dirty cops and drug dealer , Evans play Detective Paul " Disco " Diskant , a cop who helps the main graphic symbol , bring by Keanu Reeves , open his name after he is frame in for slaying .
The film was not well - received by critic and was only Ayers ’s 2d film that he head . Evans does just fine in the role , but the whole film is utterly forgettable . It ’s brim with cop cliches and a plot that is all too predictable . fortunately , Evans got to act as function that were a lot more play than this .
Mace (Sunshine)
Sunshineis a skill fable film mastermind by Danny Boyle that stars Cillian Murphy , Rose Byrne , and Chris Evans as members of an cosmonaut team who are charge on a charge to revive the sun , which has start to give-up the ghost out , leave the Earth freezing insensate . The pic begins as an interesting character study in space , but unfortunately devolves into a pseudo - slasher film in its final third .
Evans play Mace , the engineer of the crew . He manages to keep a cool straits under pressure , and that seems to be a calibre Evans brought into his role as Steve Rogers . Once again , Evans come along in this film with yet another actor who would be featured in the MCU . This time it was Benedict Wong .
Jake Wyler (Not Another Teen Movie)
Among all of the spoof pic inspired byScary Moviethat were fare out in the former 2000s , Not another Teen Moviemight actually be one of the best . It features some passably hilarious and specific nods to other adolescent movies , most of them the cinema of John Hughes , and features a pretty silly performance from Chris Evans , who get the chance to show off his clowning chops .
Evans plays Jake Wyler , aka " the Popular Jock . " Jake is the romantic lead of the film and is pulled into fundamentally the plot ofShe ’s All Thatwhen his admirer calculate him that he ca n’t turn the nerdy girl into the prom queer . Though the celluloid might not tolerate up to repeat viewing , it gave Evans the chance to really have play in a role .
Kyle (The Perfect Score)
Did you know that before they were working together inAvengers : Infinity Warto preserve the world from Thanos , Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson were work together to betray their mode into college ? ! It ’s straight ! The pair appear together in the filmThe Perfect Score , playing eminent school student who plan a rip-off to steal SAT question so as to cheat their mode into better schools .
Evans play Kyle , the main fibre of the film , who dreams of becoming an architect ( the typical movie and television job ) . Johansson play Francesca , who fall in in on the stickup with the group of shirker . The film was absolutely scourge by critic , but it did set the beginning of a enceinte friendly relationship between two of its stars .
Harvard Hottie (The Nanny Diaries)
Evans and Johansson would go on to star in another film together three years later when they appeared inThe Nanny Diaries . Johansson played the lead role of Annie , while Evans fiddle her lover interest , Hayden ( who is known throughout most of the film just as " Harvard Hottie " ) .
Though Johansson and Evans clearly have enceinte chemistry ( which is still put to great use in the MCU ) , the film itself is a bit of a mess . Luckily , both star got to move on to heavy and right things , and they are probably grateful that they set out to continue working together .
Ryan (Cellular)
Screenwriter Larry Cohen really had a thing for floor about phones . It all started with his screenplay for the moviePhone Booth , a film whose assumption was far better than its actual execution of instrument . Next cameCellular , which star Chris Evans as Ryan , a man who receives a call on his stain new phone from a woman who is being held surety .
Without any of the fancy ship’s bell and whistles that phones have now , Ryan is left to test and figure out how to find the woman while staying on the business with her . Though the film bills itself as a thriller , it is scant on excitement and culminates in a coda that is n’t entirely earned . At least Evans does pretty well with what he ’s given .
