With the late release of the trailer forAladdin , we catch our first face at Will Smith as the Genie . Unfortunately , it left a lot of fan rub their heads , to say the least . The Internet backlash was immediate , and for good intellect , too : the CGI is horrifying . The Genie look like a terrible fan - edit , and it ’s still gruelling to believe that the atrocity was made with the full financial support ofDisneybehind it .
Disney has been latterly push unrecorded - action remaking of its more democratic flick and so far they have been incredibly successful . With more and more movies being release , however , they lead the risk of ending up with more CGI nightmares like the Genie .
Walter Elias Disney needs to be very careful with who they decide to give the CGI makeover to because while some of them may work extremely well , there are also some that could lead to the derision the Genie has been receiving . Here are some of the fibre that Disney should fend off refashion and some that will actually work .
Terrible: Ursula
There ’s a lot to capture when it derive to Ursula . The Little Mermaidmanaged to create one of the most compelling villains by blending the thoroughgoing amounts of threatening , humourous , and funnily endearing .
The character has become iconic , and her look is a large part of that . To try and catch it with CGI would create a monster that is horrifying to even believe about . The tentacle , pelt color , and white hair underwater all present massive challenges . It ’s difficult to see this innovation being anything but a railroad car crash .
Good: The Fox And The Hound
The Fox and The Houndis one of Disney ’s most heart - wrenching picture , and seeing the pair look even more lifelike would total to the sadness .

The property deserves a comeback , and it would be easy to pull off the animals in CGI . It would be a great way to make everyone ' ugly cry ' in dramatics again .
Terrible: Stitch
One of the greatest character aboutLilo and Stitchis the transition from Stitch being a monster to being an lovely ally . The CGI version would almost certainly capture the monster part and nothing else .
While it ’s easygoing to see how they could create a creepy exotic threat with CGI , the ability to have Stitch also present his cute side is an almost inconceivable challenge . Imagining a Stitch made with computing equipment graphics saying " Ohana means folk " is enough to ghost your dreams .
Good: Kuzco
The beautiful part of capturing Kuzco as a llama in CGI is that even if it looks a footling bite creepy , that ’s kind of the point . The Emperor ’s New Grooveis one of Disney ’s funniest pic , and see a CGI llama with Kuzco ’s voice behind it is already funny .
Terrible: Hades
Aides fromHerculessuffers from the same job as Stitch , it would be hard to portray him as anything but frightening . The flaming heighten when he have angry would count incredible in CGI , but he might go a turn too far for a movie aimed at children . There is so much more to the character than just being the God of Death , and it would be almost unsufferable to appreciate his dry humor and sarcasm while staring at the fangs , sunken eyes , and flame point of the character . A CGI version would be much more suitable for a horror motion-picture show .
Good: Aristocats
If there ’s one field where CGI has been prove to work , it ’s with animals . The recent adjustment of The Jungle Book proved just how well the engineering is able to handle recreate animals , and the lagger forThe Lion Kinglooks highly promising .

Aristocatsis a lesser - known Disney belongings that would be gross to bring back . have less of a fan base means that there ’s less risk , and it ’s also a majuscule way to preface younger audience to the loveable khat .
Terrible: Mushu
Unlike the other characters on the inclination , we get it on that Mushu actually will be appearing in a alive - action remake . Mulanis scheduled to get out soon , and it has been describe that Mushu will be appearing . It is very hard to see how they are belong to be able to pull in this one off , even from just a technical aspect .
Mushu is a very small , very slender dragon that does a lot of concealment and go in places . The real acquittance will show whether or not Disney can draw in it off , but my money is on Mushu having a much little role or it being a complete calamity .
Good: Robin Hood
Robin Hoodis a timeless taradiddle that Disney masterfully reimagined using animals . The trial impression that this would put to work is again with the remake ofThe Jungle Book . Interestingly , the animation for Little John inRobin Hoodwas straightaway copy from Baloo , and there ’s no reason why they could n’t do it again .
Terrible: John Silver
Treasure Planet , Disney ’s adjustment of Robert Louis Stevenson’sTreasure Island , is one of Disney ’s most under - appreciated movie . They tried something improbably bluff , and it could only be pulled off in living . attempt to do a complete live - action remake would be a serious challenge , with all of the exotic characters and flying ships . A particular challenge would be the theatrical role of John Silver , a cyborg alien pirate . It ’s tough to guess even where to get down trying to utilise CGI to reinvent the villain .
Good: Terk
While there have been countless versions of Tarzan to murder the big screen , Disney ’s fun take on the character will always stand out .
One reason why Disney ’s translation works so well was the ability to give all of the animals real personalities . satellite of the Apeshas usher that gorilla can be captured passing well using CGI and it would be squeamish to see a playfulness Tarzan on concealment again .
