The villains ofAnt - Man and The Wasparen’t the stars of the show , but they could still have a future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe . When it comes to the latest offering from Marvel Studios , they rely on their strength of let the submarine sandwich do the heavy lifting . Despite somewhat define screen clip and proper setup , the villain inAnt - Man and The Waspexit the cinema with potentially braggart futures .
The master villain ofAnt - Man and The Waspis Ava aka Ghost , played by Hannah John - Kamen . She ’s introduced very early on on but has an agenda all her own . As her past is uncovered , there ’s plenty of wrinkles to explore . One of them is hersurrogate father human relationship with Bill Fosteraka Goliath , played by Laurence Fishburne , as well as a surprising Apocalypse about Ava ’s true Father of the Church . There ’s even Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch who recur throughout the picture to add another storey of complexity to the caper .

There is n’t a guarantee that any of these characters will pass in succeeding motion-picture show , though , despite all survive the events ofAnt - Man and The Wasp . If Marvel Studios does have interest in bringing any back ( maybe forAnt - Man 3 / Ant - Man and The Wasp 2 ) , then there are some fascinating directions to go . And if they do n’t , there ’s still some information about them that could change the way other MCU event , lineament , or governing body will be seen .
Bill Foster Isn’t A Hero
One of the other twistsAnt - Man and The Wasp ’s story takes is puttingBill Foster in an antagonistic character . Bill is the former partner to Hank Pym ( Michael Douglas ) back during their solar day at S.H.I.E.L.D. The two seldom saw eye - to - heart and led to Hank firing Bill / Bill quitting , depending on who you trust . He may have been an other quizzer onProject Goliath , but those days are well behind him . He spends his daytime teaching , then fracture to a caregiver with a morally grey-haired range alfresco of the classroom . AsAnt - Man and The Waspends , Foster is able to make a choice . Despite Ava tell him to go forth her , he insist on staying by her side . With the cops red-hot on their track , they now encounter themselves on the run .
What is n’t clear , though , is where he ’ll turn his attention to . He may be on the run , but he surely want more out of this life than just keep on a sleepless eye on Ava . Thanks to his years of inquiry with Hank , Bill is one of the most knowledgeable people when it come to the Quantum Realm . There ’s no common sense that his anger towards Hank has now disappeared ; he could easy continue down a villainous itinerary to become recognized once again . It ’d give Marvel another chance to reinvent a graphic symbol from the source material and maybe even get him to suit up one more time .
Ghost’s Future May Lead to Thunderbolts
The other half of Foster ’s story consist with Ghost . She ’s square the baddie for most of the film and her motivations are rather uncomplicated . She ’s dying after yr of trying to insure her Quantum Realm given abilities . With only a few week left to know , she ’s nether region bended on finding Janet van Dyne ( Michelle Pfeiffer ) to extract the energy from the realm to test and stabilize her body . Her plan does n’t solve the way she anticipates , but Janet still heals her all the same . Ava appears to have complete ascendancy over her intangibility now ( or mayhap even lost it altogether ) , which could come in ready to hand as she evades law enforcement with Bill .

Her hereafter , meanwhile , remains a bit more unclear . She ’s been cured as desired , but what will she do next ? In the comedian , Ghost is arecurring member on the Thunderbolts roll . John - Kamen already has said she ’s interested in exploring that side of the character next , so that could be what they ’re plan . The Thunderbolts are a chemical group of villains turned heroes and a few members have already been introduced . Ghost could still have some ire towards Hank for what he did to her don , but that may not be enough to constitute another villainous turn - especially since they saved her liveliness . If there is a next step for her , trying to right her wrong with the Thunderbolts could be the way to go .

S.H.I.E.L.D. Is No Better Than Hydra
At this point , it is n’t a secret that S.H.I.E.L.D. is n’t the with child organization they ’d wish everyone to trust . Hydra produce within the company for tenner prior to them break up it from within inCaptain America : The Winter Soldier . Prior to that meter , though , they were involved in some seriously disturbing exercise - and Ava is the prime example . When S.H.I.E.L.D. received give-and-take of Ava ’s position , they both assay to help her , creating a suit that eliminated the pain and gave her ascendence , yet also experimented on a fry and turned her into a privy federal agent .
There have been a fewexamples of Hydraimploring despicable tactics to get their results ( such as the experimentation that make the Maximoff twins their powers ) , but S.H.I.E.L.D. ’s hands are n’t any cleaner . They basically turn Ghost into their own Winter Soldier . The question may still remain whether or not this was done under Fury ’s command though . For all we bed , she could ’ve been part of a top unavowed program that Alexander Pierce was overseeing , basically making Ghost a sleeper Hydra agent . It does make one wonder who else S.H.I.E.L.D. could on the QT have been experimenting on , as well as whether or not this information became public when Natasha Romanoff put all of S.H.I.E.L.D. ’s intel online . If so , it could be even tougher for the organisation to resurface with child experimentation and mercenaries on their record book .
Does Egghead Have a Future?
The other villain to come out of Ghost ’s story is that of her don , Elihas Starr;Ant - Man and The Waspsurprisingly unwrap that Ava is the girl of the laughable baddie recognise asEgghead . He worked with Hank during his day at S.H.I.E.L.D. , but Hank fuck off him fired and discredited in the scientific community . However , Starr still wanted to continue his inquiry with the Quantum Realm and create Quantum Tunnel of his own . The experimentation had an unfortunate ending , though , when it exploded , granting Ava her abilities but killing her parents .

What makes this specially interesting is why Marvel would make the choice to introduce Egghead in this capacity . He may just be too obscure of a baddie for them to use in a larger capacity , so Marvel simply decided to utilize him here to provide comical reader with a morsel of an Easter egg . The film shows his soundbox lying in rubble and Ava tell he died , but this a comic book movie universe after all ; maybe he is n’t even really all in . If he is , Egghead could return in a more prominent form .
Douglas has expressedhis interest in a new Hank Pym movie , and Egghead could easily match into such a period musical composition if Marvel really wanted . He is one of Ant - Man ’s more placeable villains too and could tie together the transmissible melodic theme of theAnt - Manfranchise should he and specter manage to return .
