F9: The Fast Saga
The wait forFast & Furious 9has just been extend by a few weeks thanks to Universal check the release date . The studio apartment ’s once ground action franchise has now become one of the biggest blockbuster franchises of all - time . Much of this achiever started once Dwayne Johnson get together the property , but with him off doing his ownHobbs & Shawspinoff , it will be Vin Diesel who will solely lead the 9th installment .
The story ofFast & Furious 9is not yet known , but Diesel has been badger update on the project for the last several weeks . They are in the final phase of pre - production withfilming define to start in April , and the subsequence will reportedly ( and unsurprisingly ) feature the homecoming of many familiar case in the franchise . This move is surprising on a number of levels , but especially so when the franchise ’s success as of previous is considered . The last two films , which both made over $ 1 billion on their own , hit theatre in April , so this appeared to be the mellisonant maculation for the franchise . This instead moves the franchise to Memorial Day weekend , the same one-armed bandit thatFast & Furious 6got , opening to a then enfranchisement best $ 97 million over the 3 - sidereal day weekend , but $ 117 M over the 4 - day vacation .

But , since WB is place to releaseGodzilla : Billie Jean Moffitt King of the Monstersin the same window this year , they probably wo n’t agitate by much if the continuation do well .
