The Flashhas lost and regained his speed plenty of times over the years , but DC Comics has just raised the bar by asking the darkest head yet . What ripe is Barry Allen ’s speed … if he has no legs to run ?
It ’s hard to believe thatThe Flashcomic would cross such a line , and there will sure enough be some way for Barry to reverse time , repair the damage , and put the villains creditworthy behind measure . But for the clip being he will have to image out how to stay ' the fastest human beings live ' even with both legs removed from the human knee down . Even for a villain like Trickster , using achainsawfeels a little inelegant .
The Flash Finally Gets Trick(ster)ed
We ’ll get to the ghastly cliffhanger in a here and now , and how it was all revealed as much as a shock to Barry Allen as the proofreader . But the taradiddle ofhow The Flash lost his legs(literally ) is just as surprising due to the baddie which pulled it off . Normally we would expect an enemy like Reverse - Flash , Gorilla Grodd , or even Captain Cold to go too far and turn comic Good Book fantasy into horror . But this time ? It ’s all thanks to James Jesse a.k.a . Trickster . And after pull offthisdisappearing number , his place in Flash history has been all but cement .
His plan ? To unlock the mogul of the Sage Force , a cosmic partner tothe Speed Force channeled by The Flash , and use it to exhibit control over mass ’s minds alternatively of their forcible torso . And on the surface , his dodge is n’t so direful : he intends to force the residents of Central City to behappy . Of course , being a supervillain , that happiness is presently used as leverage to aim everyone in the city to hand - to - hand , murderous fight to protect such a gift .
Just when it seems like Flash and his partnerCommander Cold ( a hero from the future strand in the current era)are poise to stop and turn this diabolical plot , the other shoe is send packing . Commander Cold is revealed to have fall target to Trickster ’s spell – no Speed Force protective cover for him – and unconsciously service James Jesse ’s orders instead . So as the lights fade and Barry Allen loses cognisance , the true brilliance of Trickster ’s plotting set about to take bod . This is where he hoped to finish up all along .

Flash Wakes Up To a Horrifying Surprise

And when he finally learns exactly how Trickster used him and his sub - zero munition to negate Barry Allen ’s swiftness and start his … study , we doubt air force officer Cold will ever forgive himself .
It ’s worth generate into the genial space of Trickster , to understand the scene about to be revealed . After being for the most part forget by the heroes of the DC Universe , his fellow varlet , and mass of comical lector ( all part of the story ’s ' meta ' root word ) Trickster has returned to show that he should never have been pretermit . Which mean Trickster has as much vengeance to claim from Flash directly than anyone else .
So in truly exquisite supervillain custom , Trickster patiently hear to Barry Allen ’s promise to hold reach the city from this psychical sorcery , and hold any restraints the villain would habituate to stop him . It ’s then that Trickster merely demand how Flash will wangle to keep launch the day for anyone … now that he’smissing both of his leg . You ca n’t say Trickster lacks a dash for the dramatic .
Calling the taking apart his latest " disappearing act , " Trickster cackles with laughter while revving the chainsaw he apparently used to remove Barry ’s limb .
