Warner Bros. has been build the MonsterVerse since 2014 after the release ofGodzilla , and now it ’s almost time for a true sequel to go far . The new entry in the franchise is directed by Michael Dougherty , and has been the recipient of some neat marketing so far . The studio launchedthe first trailerto a great reception at San Diego Comic - Con last summertime , and the good will has only continued since then .
With less than two month to go beforeKing of the Monstershits theaters , WB is pushing the marketing campaign into high gear . They ’ve releasednumerous TV spotsover the last few calendar week that have repeatedly badger how the path of Godzilla , Ghidorah , Mothra , and Rodanwill cross in destructive path . During Warner Bros. ' board at CinemaCon , they debuted an extended new look atGodzilla : King of the Monstersthat pack in even more combat between the classic Toho monster . Screen Rant ’s Rob Keyes was in attendance and here is what he assure .

The footage open up with a shot panning up through water with military ships visible and bombers flying in the crimson sky above . It tailor to Washington under plan of attack as Rodan vanish through the orange swarm overhead . As the erratic demeanor of the monsters continues , aggregative evacuation are being led by the military who are"running out of options and clip . “Cue the studio logo of WB and Legendary .
As the footage continues , we see Dr. Emma Russell ( Vera Farmiga ) and Madison Russell ( Millie Bobby Brown ) bequeath the icy base that has been built around a frozen Ghidorah . Farmiga ’s character turns on the Orca , a twist up to of communicating with the monsters . It cut down to Mark Russell ( Kyle Chandler ) and a grouping of soldiers on the ice where a jumbo hole is in the location of the base used to be . Orange ignitor is shining out of this hole as a tail with spikes appear , quickly divulge a proper smell at the three - headed and two - tailed Ghidorah . It is n’t clear what she believes she ’s saving the worldly concern from by releasing all these monsters upon it , but this is what she want .
Since this footage was shown only at CinemaCon , it ’s unclear if WB will relinquish it online at any point . Some of these scenes and moments could be used in succeeding telecasting spots , but another extended trailer is probably unlikely at this point . With all the positive reactions to this footage and the movie in general , Godzilla : King of the Monstersshould be in full place to be a box office hit this summer .
