In Stephen King’sIT , a group of kids from the fabricated town of Derry , Maine band together to defeat the child - eat animate being that resides in the townspeople ’s sewers . Andy Muschietti ’s first adaptation follows the kids ( official appendage of the Losers ' Club ) as they manage to in effect maim , but fail to kill , the grampus clown . In the second and final chapter of theITadaptations , the Losers return to Derry as adult 27 years subsequently to finish what they started . And , while some of the baseball club ’s members do n’t make it out alive by the end of the story , the trailer forIT Chapter Twospoils who those characters are .

The poke forIT Chapter Twoincludes a shot of the grown - up Losers looking at a storefront windowpane that displays a reflexion of their younger selves . Only , the older Losers are missing two key member who become flat in King ’s novel : Stanley Uris ( Andy Bean ) and Eddie Kaspbrak ( James Ransone ) . So , even though the trailer does n’t explicitly spoil their deaths , placing the previous and younger Losers side - by - side is grounds enough for fans of King ’s novel .
Though all member of the Losers ' Club survive by the remnant of the firstIT , they ’re not so golden as adults . In fact , one of the two major expiry in King ’s novel fall out in one of the first few chapters . The demise belongs to Stanley Uris by elbow room of self-destruction . 27 years after their childhood fight against Pennywise , Mike Hanlon adjoin the Losers , inviting them back to Derry to face off against Pennywise yet again . Only , Stanley is overpower with crippling fright , choosing instead to take his own life over going back .
The second death belongs to Eddie Kaspbrak , whodoesmake it back to Derry , only to lose in the battle against Pennywise . That said , despite his death , Eddie throws his cautious sensitiveness to the wind and leaven his fearlessness in his final minute , fulfil a lifelong electric arc .
Now , considering that Eddie is n’t with the Losers in the guessing fromIT Chapter Two’strailer , it ’s possible that this is a conniption from the end of the film , post - Pennywise ’s licking ( not only is Eddie missing , but the remaining Losers count a bit worse for wearing ) . Thankfully , though , fans of the first film who have n’t scan the novel should be in the clear-cut as far as spoilers go since it ’s also just as potential that Eddie is simply somewhere else during this scene ( possible , but not likely ) . As for Stanley , though , interview will ascertain fairly ahead of time on why Andy Bean was n’t on the call sheet that day .
