The Suicide Squadis currently on rail for asummer 2021 release datewith Gunn directing , but that was n’t always the plan . At one point it was believe thatSuicide Squad 2could be resign in 2018 , but the film plainly got detain by a few class . Several directors were also in talks to helm the project before Gunn , includingMel Gibson , Guy Ritchie , andGavin O’Connor .
