According towriter / managing director Tom McLoughlin , Jason Voorhees was originally supposed to make employment of an uzi submachine gun inFriday the 13th Part 6.As any revulsion devotee knows , the killer whale in the originalFriday the 13thfilm was Pamela Voorhees , Jason ’s mom . This left the inexplicably alive Jason to carry on the family legacy fromFriday the 13thPart 2 onward , and one ca n’t say he has n’t done it with zestfulness . Jason certainly is n’t the most talkative guy , but he clearly enjoy his job , having dispatched dozens of inauspicious victims throughout the 10Friday the 13thinstallments he ’s starred in so far .
As the serial publication progressed , Jason also engender a mint more creative with his method of murder . That makes unadulterated sense , as the master hooking of a slasher flick is seeing just who will get offed and how it will chance . Jason graduated from using stock weapons like a machete and an ax , to such implements as gardening tool , an galvanizing guitar , toxic wastefulness , and even a party horn . Per McLoughlin though , all those kills might have been outperform by the sight of Jason straight - up shoot down people in the franchise ’s 6th junket .

During a recent interview with theMidnight ’s Edgeshow on Youtube ( viaArrow in the Head ) , McLoughlin talked in depth about 1986’sFriday the thirteenth Part 6 : Jason Lives , likely his most famous work as a filmmaker . Jason Livesis generally quite beloved by fan , as afterFriday the thirteenth Part 5 : A New Beginningdecided to supervene upon Jason with a copycat sea wolf , McLoughlin opt toresurrect the slasher ikon as a A-one - powered zombie . Jason Livesalso introduced a playful humor to the enfranchisement , clear not accept thing too badly . To that end , McLoughlin revealed that his original script called for Jason to blow away a few victims with an uzi . Here ’s his full quote :
I turned that in ( a 15 to 20 page discussion for JASON LIVES ) , and it ’s pretty much verbatim exactly what the movie is , in term of the fictitious character , the shot . The only matter that is unlike that I wrote and then realized , ' No , this is not a good idea ' , was when Jason kill the paintballer that has all the weapons and stuff that he takes , you do it with the utility belt and the matchet and all that stuff . in the first place these were not paintballers , they were hunters out there , and this guy was Mr. Macho with all that stuff and he had an Uzi . So when Jason ripped his subdivision off and gets the machete , the next time we see him , in front of the motorhome , he ’s got an Uzi strapped to him . And I thought from a visual point of view , it ’s like ' Holy shit , Jason Rambo ! ' And so when he go into the motorhome and he bursts out of that bathroom on the fille , he just opens fire and shoots the crap out of her and shoots the crap out Cort behind the wheel and then the motorhome crashes . But I went , ' You sleep with what ? Anybody can do that . ' … If I ’m bringing Jason back from the grave accent with this superhuman strength , that he can move around a fountainhead and pull it off and punch a substance out and decapitate three mass with one swoop , this is just not right , and it ’s also an imitatable act , and I did not want that . "
In a movie where Jason does matter like decapitate three people at once , literally click a serviceman in half with his bleak hands , and rip a victim ’s heart right out of his thorax , it ’s hard to say that the image of Camp Crystal Lake ’s resident teras gunning down folks with a machine gun would have seemed that over the top . Still , it ’s not unvoiced to translate McLoughlin ’s reasoning for remove the scene . Theother crazy killsmentioned above are all acts a real - life manslayer could n’t copy , and could only conceivably be carried out by a supernatural entity , ca-ca them uniquely originative . Picking up a gun and shooting people is something anyone can do , as evidenced by the disturbing amount of aggregate shootings take position in the U.S.
by from that , using a gun would n’t really fit in with Jason ’s common modus operandi . While Jason made use of goods and services of a speargun inFriday the 13thPart 3,that ’s still a long way from using an actual small-arm . The vast majority of Jason ’s killing are of the up close and personal variety , presumably because Jason likes to watch his dupe wrestle . Shooting masses would seem too detached for Jason , and contrary to his established characterization . Well , his established characterization when not turned into a body - hopping demon , a cyborg , or back into a little boy . Yeah , these pic are strange . Still , that does n’t stop devotee from loving them .
