In this interview , they speak about what the how programs like the one inThe Mustangcan help creature and former inmates go back mentally and what it was like to cultivate on coiffure with these animals .

cat , congratulations on the photographic film . It ’s amazing . I had no estimate that program like this existed , so that ’s all new to me . But criminal justice reform has been in the forefront of the news latterly . How doesThe Mustangadd to that ?

Laure de Clermont - Tonnerre : I mean , if , if this cinema can raise awareness about those programs and expand them that would be my biggest wish . There ’s a sight of wild horses in hold facility waiting for adoption . Sometimes they would pass years and years and long time without , I mean , just sometimes dying there and there ’s a lot of inmate upon their departure who actually relapse and is there , are there , do most of them die . And I find that those programs inside the prison house , they ’re wonderful and they should also be outside of the prison . I suppose it ’s such a natural and visceral response of repair , a homo ’s soul , immense gloominess and pain . That , I like that was on the justice level is maybe a mode to push it more , to research it more and to spend it .

Your persona , almost his journey . Roman ’s journey almost mirror that of cultivate a waste sawhorse that ’s captured as well . Can you blab to me about that experience and what you knock into that fibre so much of Roman ?

Matthias Schoenaerts : Cool . For me it ’s about , uh , the movie tells a narrative about the possibility of change and the possible action of translation . That ’s why I also think it ’s so pressing and so actual to talk about it because it goes against , you know , a certain cynical disposition that we might be given into a where multitude say , yeah , but some multitude are suffer , some people can not change . And this film tries to tell the reverse . And if this movie can contribute and if the journeying of this character reference can contribute to that impression then I think we ’re doing a good thing . And then the change is being instigated by this horse , the inter-group communication with the sawhorse , which is a very visceral process , a very worked up process . It ’s not an rational process . It ’s really two philia dumbfound and bear upon each other in a very virtuous and direct forward agency . And that has an tremendous political calibre to it . And I think that is also , to me , I think the potency of the flick it ’s the earnestness of the exchange between these two individuals , so to speak .

It ’s really beautiful actually the human relationship that Roman has with Marcus ’s horse . I just recently encounter out that Jason was actually afraid of horses .

Matthias Schoenaerts : And not only Jason also Bruce . Bruce was petrified . I was scared as an understatement . He was petrified . Like “ You ’re gon na get that Equus caballus aside form me . ”

Well I was going to necessitate cause they say that in Hollywood do n’t make two types of films , one with kids and one with animals . And I just wanted to know some of your experience that you guys had with a fate of these horses . educate them , scoring them .

The Mustang

Laure de Clermont - Tonnerre : It was definitely a challenge , but they were very disciplined , those Equus caballus in the conclusion .

Matthias Schoenaerts : We were very favorable to have an awe-inspiring knight trainer who ’s like a true master . And without him we would have been in trouble . get we only have five weeks to shoot the film . So that ’s a modified amount of prison term that we had some complex sequences and thanks to him , he was just , I think of he was like a conductor . He could just like , he could have horse jump around and do parallelism and whatnot . I mean that guy had the real magic . And he helped us a band .

Laure de Clermont - Tonnerre : He helped us a lot .

You guy rope , this movie is awing . I hope everybody sees it . astonishing line . Thank you so much for your time .
