It ’s not well-defined just what happened to the Eternals , as it ’s implied they killed themselves when they learn the Sojourner Truth . The whole news report is a complex one that distinctly has some more twists , which is unsurprising as Jason Aaron is behind it . He ’s spent years fleshing out the backstory of Asgard , and now Earth is let a like treatment .
What is shocking is that the Eternals , who have scarcely been a pip in the comics recently , are brought back only to be down . Their connective to the Celestials and their mutant cousins the Deviants seems the perfect prison term to work them into the taradiddle . After all , Thanos is a Deviantand the Eternals are prim out to be a prominent MCU dealership in Phase 4 . Because of that , it ’s potential Marvel has something else up their arm .
Marvel has spent years tweaking the comics to reflect the MCU , from making Quake and Inhuman to adding Coulson and the new Nick Fury toTessa Thompson ’s Valkyriejoining the fight . Knowing that , this could be an effort to wipe the slate clean and re-introduce a version of the Eternal that can more properly expansion slot into the MCU . We ’ll have to wait and see how that crop out , however , as Marvel looks to be making some major changes .
