For over five years , Gerry Duggan has been penning the adventures of Wade Wilson , and he certainly has n’t given the variation an easy ride . Now , Duggan will be bowing out with a raw serial ( entitle simplyDeadpool ) set to strike shelves next month with Skottie Young and Nic Klein at the reins .
It ’s the goal of an era , and to make the clear , the final issue has wiped out most of the past five years of character development for Deadpool , devote him a semi - unclouded slate .

The past few issues have seen Deadpool in a pit of self - abhor , regrettingkilling heroes for the evil Captain America , and letting his friends down . He went so far as to put a hit out on himself , name down all the baddie of the Marvel Universe to try and finish up him off , but none deliver the goods . Now that the Marvel Hero have also failed to do the deed , Deadpool is taking matters into his own hands …
slimy Deadpool # 300opens with Deadpool taking down some of the biggest hero in the Marvel Universe ( in a sincerely unique , and implausibly revolting mode ) , before he give up and heads off to deal with the real job ( himself ) … himself . His path get him to Bartol Utler ’s old lab , where he was once used for spare parts ( see as they grow back , and all ) .
Once there , Wade turns to the medicament on hand to not just knock him out , but wipe his memory . While Utler only used enough to wipe out a few hour at a meter , Wade hooked up as many IV bags of these same chemicals as he could , effectively wiping his memory completely sporting before Captain America bursts in to stop him .
The overdose may not have killed Deadpool in the traditional sense , but it ’s about as close as he could get , give way his hyper - herculean healing factor . This also effectively boot his story and fibre development throughout Duggan ’s run with the lineament , as the follow dialog box show Deadpool inside his own psyche , slaughtering his memories of everything from his time with the Avengers to his romance with Shiklah and his kiss with Rogue - even his child , Ellie .
Just to hammer the point home even further , the issue included a scene with Duggan himself , as the writer picks up Deadpool on his way to the science lab … and Deadpool film him in the head .
Despicable Deadpool # 300ends with Wade Wilson absolved of his crime . Well , technically deemed not mentally capable of stick out run , with the mind - wipe leaving him a drooling pile , and land him in a tending place . But it ’s not the end for the Merc With A Mouth ; the last control panel reveals that he has woken up , vaguely aware of who he is , but with most of his memory miss .
Now , it ’s meter for a new Deadpool to rejoin the Marvel universe , without so many of those pesky feelings he ’s been portion out with latterly . But with that same natural passion of mayhem and chimichangas , obviously .
