Avengers: Infinity War

The writers behindAvengers : Infinity Warwish they could ’ve changed the amount of MacGuffins - object , characters or other tale devices that propel the plot along - the picture show had . It took Marvel Studios ten years and eighteen movies to build towardsInfinity War . They used their time ( afterThe Avengersin 2012 ) well , introducing several Infinity Stones , and most significantly , setting up Thanos . OnceInfinity Waractually begin though , audiences were full infix to Josh Brolin ’s Mad Titan and the levels of mayhem he could bring .

Thanos ' goal all along has been toacquire all six Infinity Stonesso he could do what no one else would : bring balance to the population by wiping away half of its population . Right from the get go , Thanos is a step before of everyone else and already has the Power Stone . But , the fact that he had to secure all six stones is something the writers ofInfinity Warwish they could ’ve change .

mouth toThe New York Times , screenwriter Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely were ask about their process of craftingAvengers : Infinity War ’s book . In doing so , McFeely give away what was one of the more challenging facet of creating the film ’s structure , and that he and Markus would ’ve changed this face if they were in charge . His quote can be seen below .

Had we start from cabbage , we would not have chosen six blame MacGuffins . That ’s not that helpful . It was difficult to get that all in .

Most movies have one MacGuffin , if any at all , so them being tasked with stuffing six into a single pic is elusive . However , with a belt n ' catch approach , they were able to draw in off Thanos ' quest with relatively short hiccups along the way . It is n’t even until the final second of the film that Thanos finally has all six Stone in his possession , and their finger - snapping conclusion forget the possibility forAvengers 4as open as anything .

The trouble of this task as expressed by Markus and McFeely though could explicate why Thanos is already in control of the Power Stone when the movie set about . Infinity Waralready is Marvel ’s longest running movie at over two and a one-half hours , so including a succession where Thanos , the Black Order , and the Outridersstorm Xandarwouldn’t have been a quick scene . Plus , since Thor explain he did this act a week or so before the events of the residuum of the movie , it could ’ve created a small time jump . It appears not including this sequence may not have only help the pic , but also just helped ease the story for the writers .

Depending on how one looks at it though , with one-half of the population andmany of the MCU ’s heroes go , deliver them could mayhap meanAvengers 4ends up with even more MacGuffin . If that ’s the case , hopefully Markus and McFeely were able to get a handle on such a structure throughAvengers : Infinity War .
