I trust it goes without saying that I love and support my brother James . And I ’m quite proud of how genial , generous , and compassionate he is with the people in his life , whether they are friends , family , colleague , fans , or strangers .
Since he was a kid , it was clean he had a desire ( mayhap luck ) to be an creative person , tell stories , find his part through comics , film , his band . The battle to observe that voice was sometimes unwieldy , misguided , or downright stunned , and sometimes wonderful , moving , and hilarious .
Since devoting his entire living to the Guardians movies and MCU six years ago , I ’ve seen him impart that voice into his employment on those movies and seen him transform from the guy who made up things to appal the great unwashed .
I saw at first hand as he choke from worry about " buffer his edge " for a big audience to realize that his " edge " was n’t as utile of a tool as he thought it was . That his gift for storytelling was something skillful .
I saw that he was more candid - hearted than the guy who postulate to get a rise out of people by making nasty or offensive jokes ( or whatever you opt to call them – I do n’t call up his bluer material was ever his funniest and neither does mommy ) .
In many respect this variety in my comrade was reflected in the change that the Guardians go through . I ’ve discover my comrade say many times that when Quill razz the squad with " this is our chance to give a shit"–to care – that it ’s the pep talking he himself needed to take heed .
It ’s part of what made ferment on the Guardians movies such a rewarding experience for the cast , myself included . We managed to find ourselves involved in a big - budget superhero movie that was , at its core , deep personal . That ’s a talent . And that ’s why it ’s ripe .
