The newestSupermanvillain , Rogol Zaar is finally start out to playact in Brian Michael Bendis’The Man of Steelseries . InThe Man of Steel # 3 , Rogol Zaar has by rights made his introduction to Superman by murdering the entire Kryptonian urban center of Kandor .
Rogol Zaar first appeared inAction Comics # 1000.It was in that landmark proceeds thatRogol Zaar claimed that he was the reason that Krypton died . While it was obvious that Zaar was go to be a huge part of Brian Michael Bendis ' run onSuperman , the new villain has n’t done much . InThe Man of Steel # 3 , Zaar makes up for lost time by slaughter the last citizens of Kyrpton and crusade Clark Kent dangerously over the edge .

For a villain that has done a whole heap of nothing since his first appearance , Rogol Zaar gets off to a raucous scratch inThe Man of Steel # 3 . The result open with Rogol charging into the fort of Solitude , ripping up Superman ’s robot Kelex and finally shattering the peace of lives of the citizens of Kandor .
It ’s a huge but welcome change from Bendis’The Man of Steelseries so far which has consisted of Superman enquire and incendiary and hypnotism thatLois Lane has left Clark Kentor that Lois and the couple ’s boy Jon have go . ( Even though there ’s no way that the either is true . )
The whirl that Rogol Zaar is behind Krypton ’s destruction , in some room , does n’t have the impact the DC Comics want but the violent death of Kandor does make the monstrous scoundrel slightly more interesting . At the very least , he ’s become a huge worked up and forcible threat for Superman .
Kandor has n’t always been a Brobdingnagian part of the late Superman canyon . The city has drift in out and of Superman ’s sprightliness and his protection . In the simplest damage , Kandor is a Kryptonian urban center that get by the wipeout of the planet by being shrunk into a nursing bottle . All the residents survived , Supergirl has even come from Kandor in a few stoires , and Superman vowed to line up a path to save the metropolis . Now , thanks to Rogol Zaar , Clark will never have that chance .
The destruction of Kandor and its innocent citizens shake Superman to his core . Superman is a double-dyed muddle when Supergirl , making her DC Rebirth debut in theSupermanseries , obtain her cousin-german in front of the remains of Kandor . Together Superman and Supergirl vow to get revenge on Kandor . They habituate their topnotch senses to locate Rogol Zaar and they finally meet the alien cheek - to - face .
The Man of Steel # 3ends before Kara and Clark are able to attack Rogol Zaar . Yet , considering the fact that the villain was waiting for them , the battle is probably not going to go in their favor . Rogol Zaar is lead to put down the Isle of Man and girlfriend of steel but at least Bendis ' serial will end up going somewhere other than vague teases and retell the same few plot points .
Kandor probably is n’t going to stay destroy forever too . No demise lasts in cartoon strip , not even that of a city . However , the death of Kandor does add some real excited and compelling interest to Superman ’s villain that has n’t been there before now . Rogol Zaar is nowhere near the nefarious tiptop of Lex Luthor , Brainiac or even Doomsday .
Yet butcher an entire city of unknown , is a one helluva fashion to make an introduce yourself . It ’s up to the rest of the miniseries ( and Bendis ' run onSupermanbeyondThe Man of Steel ) to determine if Rogol Zaar lives up to the scandalous first impression he make for Superman .
