Although fans first believe Bruce Banner appeared in one particular team shoot in theAvengers : Endgametrailer , it seems the character in question is actually Ronin . In Marvel Comics , Ronin is an identity taken on by several characters , including Clint Barton , who became Ronin when he rejoined the New Avengers after their Civil War .
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe , Clint Barton is Hawkeye , a character impersonate by Jeremy Renner . Unfortunately , Hawkeye has n’t been used much in the MCU and even disappeared without a trace inAvengers : Infinity War , though it was explained in dialog . His disappearance had nothing to do with the Thanos ginger nut and he will once more take up implements of war with his fellow Avengers inEndgame . Rennerbegan rag his riposte inEndgamelast year , with rumor suggesting he would no longer be Hawkeye andwould dramatize the Ronin identity . legion set photo and leaks support as much .

It turn out that Clint as Ronin is also evident in theAvengers : Endgametrailer , although it ’s voiceless to make out . Reddit userForceGeniustook a screenshot from the lagger and lighten it up to show that a character most mistook for Bruce Banner ( Mark Ruffalo ) is Ronin . It ’s hard to see the exact detail of his costume , but it ’s fairly apparent that the actor in the shot is Renner and not Ruffalo . fortuitously , promo art released fromAvengers : Endgamedoes show the Ronin costume in more item , complete with the katana that will supervene upon Hawkeye ’s bow and arrow .
At this point , Ronin ’s appearance inAvengers : Endgameis one of the worst kept arcanum in Hollywood . Even thetoys associated with the moviereveal that the character will play a part in Thanos ' frustration . There is still one mystery about the character , though : What happen to Hawkeye that forces him to become Ronin?One possibility suggeststhat he mislay his family , either to the Thanos snap or something else . That would certainly make sense for him to become a theatrical role more motivated by violence .
Whatever the case , Marvel fans will be happy to see Clint return to the CRT screen . Although he has n’t had a lot of silver screen time , he ’s still improbably popular , so much so that the directors ofInfinity Wargot death threats over his absence in that moving picture . Hopefully , Ronin will get more of a story arc than Hawkeye ever did because it would be nice for the persona to get more exposure in the films before Phase 3 of the MCU formally number to a end .
