Commander Cold really is a herocompared to his reprehensible counterpart , as the loss leader of a law force from the twenty-fifth 100 . Thanks to the activeness of Barry Allen and Wally West , Commander Cold is the sole survivor of a future that no longer exists .
For the time being he ’s stuck in present twenty-four hour period of DC ’s Prime Earth , with no substantial option but to figure out side - by - side with Barry Allen . The two improbable friend are their only support in Central City … if they do n’t pull each other throats out first .

The Flash and Commander Cold ’s partnership is very nipping ( pun very much intended ) inThe Flash # 52 . The Commander holds Barry and Wally West responsible for him being stranded outside of his time due to their natural process in Flash War . Meanwhile The Flash find it very hard to commit the humankind who look works like Captain Cold - a man who ’s stabbed him in the back about as often as Barry has unwittingly time traveled .
It does n’t help that Barry knows nothing about the humankind behind Commander Cold ’s code name and hood , either . Just imagine it asThe Odd Couple … but with more superpowers and sci - fi weirdness .
The Flash is thrust to cooperate since he ’s lost all his other brother . Wally West is in a superhero time - out , and Kid Flash a.k.a . Wallace West is n’t interested in Barry ’s steering ( afterFlash Warleft him feeling like a third - class sidekick ) . So when The cheater escapes police force custody , Cold and Flash are the only actual personal line of credit of defense , no matter how nonadaptive their bud partnership may be . In the end , it ’s up to Iris West , the one somebody cohere by Barry ’s side , to seek to heal fences . Iris convert Barry that even though they do n’t sleep together anything about Commander Cold , Barry should at least endeavor to swear him . The pep lecture , sadly , comes a lilliputian too late .
While Barry is rock by Iris ' word , The Trickster has been complimentary and loose . As the youngest and goofiest of The Flashes ' scallywag , The Trickster has never been a vast scourge . However , with the Strength Force ( a new superpower that grants overwhelming physical power ) now in play , things get complicated .
For whatever cause , The Strength Force decide to choose The practical joker as its next host . The Strength Force metamorphose Trickster into a hulking animate being out for the blood of The Flash and Commander Cold .
The Flash # 52ends with the newly empowered Trickster knocking Cold and Flash unconscious , which is at least a partial victory . Basic risible record book logic dictates that the victory will only be irregular , and when face with the immovable obstruction of The Trickster , Cold and Flash will be forced to bury the tomahawk and determine a way to work together harmoniously . The only real interrogation is : could this be a lasting partnership ?
After play with the approximation that he could be a hero , the even Captain Cold is back to his nefarious ways , leading The Rogues and despising The Flash . Commander Cold could be a way forThe Flashcomics to have the undecomposed of both world . After all , a declamatory part of the popularity ofCaptain Cold in the Arrowversewas his anxious but on-going partnership with The Flash . The comics could emulate that with Commander Cold and still leave Captain Cold as the villain he ’s been for most of his long history .
