WARNING : This clause contains SPOILERS forBatgirl # 25

There could be wedding bell in the futurity for Batgirl and Nightwing ( again ) . Dick Grayson A.K.A. Nightwing and Barbara Gordon A.K.A. Batgirl have been one of the DC Universe ’s longest running couples go back to the days ofDick Grayson as Robin . Friends and allies since their earliest superhero risky venture , Dick and Barbara have always had a healthily coquettish relationship . They in conclusion aim together officially during Chuck Dixon nineties run on theNightwingandBirds of Preycomics . However , withtheFlashpointrebootof the DC Universe , the Romance language readjust .

Since Flashpoint , Batgirl and Nightwing have stay mostly platonic . latterly though that has set out to change for the upright . As ofBatgirl # 25 , the two millennian superheroes are officially together - and do n’t see themselves marrying anyone else .

Batgirl # 25is a special issuing in Barbara Gordon ’s current test , super - sized to record hit the milestone of 25 issue , and broken up into three distinct tale . The first and largest of them takes spot hard within the continuity of the DC Universe , and is all about the romanticistic future of Nightwing and Batgirl .

The level also   manages to be a act of a pursue - up toBatman ’s fateful wedding to Catwoman . It begins with Batgirl pay heed the funeral of a manThe Joker murdered the night before Batman ’s wedding ,   and sees Barbara and Dick habituate Catwoman and Batman ’s ( intended ) honeymoon rooms . The final result is a canny counterpoise ofBatgirltouching on the current plot line ofBatmanbut also using it to beat back Barbara ’s own worked up journeying forward . Barbara and Dick have n’t been as shaken by Batman ’s break - up as the grinder , but it ’s still caused them to re - judge their own kinship and futurity . Batgirl # 25is an atypical superhero comic in a pile of means . There ’s hardly any natural process , costume , or crimefighting . rather it ’s just two people ( who are barely clothe ) speak about their feelings .

far side phobias

Dick and Babs discuss the issue of marriage as only they can : while Dick sees a poof tale wedding party in his time to come , Barbara ca n’t imagine it . She wants to get married , oneday , but the concept of a huge wedding does n’t appeal to her . The only estimate that Batgirl is really firm on ? Staying with Dick Grayson . Nightwing , Batgirl ( and DC ) refuse to put a label on the duo ’s romance , but they ’re clearly together and will stay that manner for the foreseeable time to come .

When asked , Batgirl even acknowledge that she ca n’t see anyone else on the other end of the wedding gangway but Nightwing .

Batgirl # 25isn’t an official confirmation that Batgirl and Nightwing will be repeat Batman ’s nuptials , but it ’s a step in that direction .   It ’s not a ridiculous notion either . If Nightwing and Batgirl do get married it will be their second wedding in recent memory . DC Comics '   big 2015 event , Convergence , project the return of several pre - Flashpoint character ( beforeDC Rebirth ) . A series of standalone story where told for Convergence and included among them was one where Nightwing andBarbara Gordon as her disabled alter ego , Oracle , got married .   The story and wedding is now so far out of persistence it might as well not even be - but the precedent is there .

Invincible comic

There are a multitude of reasons why Catwoman and Batman did n’t get married . However , the backlash to the prisonbreak upwas substantial . So if you ask us , some superhero happiness is needed . It ’s time that DC Comics does give some personal manner of domestic bliss to a coupleotherthan   Lois Lane and Superman . Nightwing and Batgirl are the good alternative , by far .
